1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MA Permits (the "Service"), operated by GENERAL INFORMATICS LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
MA Permits provides access to Massachusetts building permit data sourced from official municipal public records. The Service offers:
- Free CSV downloads of 2025 permit data (no homeowner contact info)
- Paid subscriptions for complete permit data including owner contact information
- Email, SMS, and messaging app alerts for new permit filings
- Territory exclusivity locks for paid subscribers
3. Data Usage
All permit data provided through the Service is derived from official Massachusetts public records and is subject to applicable state and local laws. You agree to:
- Use the data only for lawful business purposes
- Not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the raw data to third parties
- Not use the data to harass, spam, or contact individuals in a way that violates applicable laws including the CAN-SPAM Act and TCPA
- Maintain reasonable data security practices for any downloaded files
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. By subscribing you authorize GENERAL INFORMATICS LLC to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices may change with 30 days written notice. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as described in our Cancellation Policy.
5. Exclusive Territory Locks
Exclusive subscribers receive a non-compete territory lock for their selected county and niche. This lock is valid only while your subscription remains active and in good standing. GENERAL INFORMATICS LLC reserves the right to revoke exclusivity if the subscription lapses, payment fails, or these Terms are violated. Only one exclusive subscriber is permitted per county per niche category.
6. Accuracy of Data
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date permit data, we make no warranty that the data is complete, error-free, or current. Permit records are sourced directly from municipal portals and may contain inaccuracies originating from those sources. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to:
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data beyond what is provided through our download tools
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or databases
- Violate any applicable local, state, or federal law
- Engage in deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading business practices
- Impersonate any person or entity
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GENERAL INFORMATICS LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
9. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days notice via email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Massachusetts.
