GENERAL INFORMATICS LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates MA Permits at ma-permits.geninfos.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

2c. Permit data we provide (not your personal data)

The permit records we provide are Massachusetts public records. Homeowner names, addresses, and contact information in paid downloads are public record sourced from municipal permit portals — this is not information we collect about you.

To fulfill permit data downloads and send subscription alerts
To process payments via Stripe
To send transactional emails (receipt, new permit alerts, account notifications)
To prevent fraud and abuse
To improve the Service based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

Stripe — payment processing
Resend / email service provider — transactional email delivery
Supabase — database hosting (data stored in US-East region)
Law enforcement — only when required by law or court order

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active, plus 2 years after cancellation for billing and legal compliance purposes. Download logs are retained for 12 months. You may request deletion of your data by emailing us (see Section 8).

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies: one session cookie for admin authentication and localStorage for theme preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; this may affect admin functionality only.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, row-level security in our database, and scoped API keys. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 compliant). No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your email account.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct — update inaccurate information
Delete — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link
